Sociologist. I have postgraduate degrees in advanced human resources management and communication in organizations. In 2016 I joined the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country as editor of the blog Zientzia Kaiera. From 2022 I am responsible for the coordination of the organization.

César Tomé López

Chemist. I work at the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country in the Euskampus Fundazioa, where I edit Cuaderno de Cultura Científica and Mapping Ignorance. I write for the Donostia International Physics Center and the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics.

I am a professor at the Mathematics Department of the UPV/EHU and editor of the blog Mujeres con ciencia of the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country. I love to talk about mathematics (especially its presence in literature) and women scientists throughout history.

Journalist. I work as a science communicator at the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country. Mostly social media dissemination and events organization, but I’m also involved in the writing and editing of content, in radio, and whatever else is needed.

Enara Calvo Gil

Journalist. I manage youth projects at the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country and collaborate in the editing of the Zientzia Kaiera blog as well as evenst management, among other things.

Journalist. My job is to publicize the work of the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country. To this end, my main duty is to interact with the media, explaining what we do and responding to their demands.


Juan Ignacio Pérez Iglesias

Former Director (2010-2024)

Biologist. Professor of Physiology. Since its founding in 2010, I have been the director of the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country. From 2022 to 2024, my activity has been focused on institutional representation and academic leadership. I have worked as a writer in the digital media of the Chair. Currently, Vice-Minister for Science, Universities and Innovation of the Basque Government.
