SUMMARY:Katedra\, customized scientific content in the mobile phone
DESCRIPTION:Xehetasunak \n\n\n\n\nData eta ordua:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEgoitza \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUPV/EHU’s Scientific Culture Chair has developed a mobile app. All the videos\, articles\, events\, podcasts and every other content in the mobile phone. The app supports three languages: Basque\, Spanish and English. \n\n\n\nContents from Zientzia Kaiera\, Cuaderno de Cultura Científica\, Mujeres con Ciencia\, Mapping Ignorance and Zientzia.info will feed the app\, including articles\, events\, podcasts\, videos\, etc. \n\n\n\nThe app is available for Android and iOS. After installing\, the user can set up the app language and subscribe to the contents of interest. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe user can choose the type of content by both\, language and subject. The app offers contents published in Basque\, Spanish and English and the user can subscribe to contents in one or more than one language. \n\n\n\nThere are twelve subjects to choose from: Mathematics\, Physics\, Chemistry\, Biology\, Geosciences\, Astronomy\, Neuroscience\, Medicine\, Technology\, History\, Philosophy of Science and Gender and Science. Again\, the user can subscribe to one\, any combination of them or all of them. \n\n\n\nThe interface is divided in four sections: Inbox\, Blogs\, Events and Videos. \n\n\n\nInbox \n\n\n\nAt first\, this section will be empty. When new content of the subscribed subjects and languages is published\, the user will receive a notification\, once the notification is opened the contents will appear in Inbox. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBlogs \n\n\n\nAll five blogs of the Scientific Culture Chair are available here and can be surfed within the app. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvents \n\n\n\nEvents in the subscribed languages are listed here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVideos \n\n\n\nAs they are published\, the videos appear in this section. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEnjoy scientific’s contents in summer with Katedra!

SUMMARY:Cervantes the Star and its Exoplanets
DESCRIPTION:Xehetasunak \n\n\n\n\nData eta ordua:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEgoitza \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn December 2015 a subgiant star that is 49.8 light years from Earth was named Cervantes. There are four exoplanets orbiting this celestial body in the Ara constellation\, forming a new planet system. These exoplanets are called Quijote\, Rocinante\, Dulcinea and Sancho. \n\n\n\nThe proposal by Pamplona Planetarium\, the Society of Spanish Astronomers and Instituto Cervantes won the popular vote after the International Astronomical Union launched a process for choosing a name for this recently discovered planet system. \n\n\n\nAt this talk & discussion\, “Cervantes the Star and its Exoplanets”\, Javier Gorgas\, Astrophysics Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid and Chairman of the Society of Spanish Astronomers\, will be talking about this initiative and will explain what this system is like physically and how exoplanets are discovered. \n\n\n\nThe event will take place on 22 July at 7pm at Bidebarrieta Library (Bilbao). The talk will be in Spanish and admission is free.
