SUMMARY:The molecular machines that won a Nobel Prize
DESCRIPTION:Xehetasunak \n\n\n\n\nData eta ordua:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEgoitza \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year\, the Nobel Prize for Chemistry was awarded for the creation of the smallest machines in the world. Frenchman Jean-Pierre Sauvage\, Briton Fraser Stoddart and Dutchman Bernard Feringa received the accolade for having developed molecules with controllable movements capable of carrying out tasks when they are provided with energy. According to the Academy\, this finding could lead to a technological revolution. \n\n\n\nThe professor of Physical Chemistry at UPV/EHU\, Jesús Ugalde\, shall explain the significance of this discovery at the conference entitled “The molecular machines that won a Nobel Prize”\, on 16 November at Azkuna Zentroa. This talk\, which is part of the Zientziateka programme\, will be in Spanish. \n\n\n\nZientziateka is a monthly initiative organised by the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU and Azkuna Zentroa to raise awareness of current scientific matters. \n\n\n\nTickets should be collected from the Azkuna Zentroa Information Point.
